Agency Principal

Bookkeeper/Financial

Summary
Performs and monitors financial functions and tasks.  Insures accuracy and applies sound accounting practices and principles in maintaining the general ledger and developing and analyzing financial reports to support the business plans and financial goals of the agency  

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university with a concentration in accounting, finance, insurance, management or business administration with 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of all finance and accounting software applications to insure efficiencies and to maximize utilization of the available technology to support the departmental processes and procedures
  • Provides stellar customer service and prompt response to agency customers’, vendors’ and insurance companies’ accounting related inquiries
  • Performs daily and monthly general ledger account analysis and reconciliation and maintains the agency’s Chart of Accounts in its agency management system

Claims Manager

Responsibilities

  • Assists AM as needed to take first reports of claims.
  • Fills in for absent AM in taking first reports.
  • Extends full courtesy and help to third parties involved in claims.
  • Maintains electronic data on all claims activity he/she handles.
  • Determines if claims are subject to draft authority.
  • Deals with adjustors, attorneys, etc. for resolution of claims.
  • Reviews accounts and recommends appropriate coverage to AM or client.
  • Deals promptly and openly with all carrier personnel.
  • Reports to management on claims service questionnaires.
  • Reviews reserves for accuracy and resolution.

Commercial Lines Account Manager / CSR

SUMMARY

Provides a broad spectrum of client services to insurance policyholders by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reviews and analyzes property and casualty insurance exposures as required or requested by both prospective and existing clients
  • Proactively strives to increase revenues and retain existing client base.  Solicits new business, recommends additional coverage options, and promotes the company’s products and services by cross-selling both within existing client base and directly to prospects and clients referred by others.
  • Explains and recommends appropriate policy coverage to prospective and existing clients as their insurance needs change
  • Rates coverage, reviews applications for completeness and accuracy and processes them to appropriate marketing and placing outlets and insurance carriers
  • Collaborates with Renaissance Alliance Placer and designated direct agency carriers to obtain optimum markets, pricing and coverage for standard market and specialty risk accounts
  • Prepares and presents quotations for new policies
  • Processes policy changes, audits, binders and certificates of insurance
  • Reviews and analyzes client claims and loss experience
  • Monitors policy expirations, cancellations and renewals to ensure quality control and minimize potential of errors and omissions exposures

Commercial Lines Producer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Proactively prospects new P&C sales opportunities; schedules sales calls and maintains sales calendar
  • Attends meetings, seminars, and online sales programs to continually learn and sharpen sales skills and techniques

Responsibilities

  • Verifies that agency (Producer and Account Manager) have done their jobs correctly with good documentation and all coverages offered and documented correctly.
  • Handles interactive input into carrier's system (endorsements, new business, renewals, etc.).
  • Stays current on interactive input.
  • Checks carrier documents for accuracy and gets corrections from carriers.
  • Invoices transactions received from carriers.
  • Coordinates all carrier download activity.
  • Handles invoicing for downloaded transactions.
  • Readies and mails (or gives producer to deliver) all policy records that the agency mails.
  • Follows-up on delayed new, renewal, and change decs from carriers.
  • E-mails all gaps in coverage to Account Manager to be corrected.
  • Verifies date-stamping of all T-filing/scanned documents.
  • Updates claim status in system as received from carrier.
  • Maintains company-specific rates and forms for carriers that don’t support this information online.
